Overstock.com recently announced that annual revenues had increased 4% to $1,099 billion from the previous year’s total of $1.05 billion.   Impressive for a company that began little more than a decade ago near the turn of the century.

The company apparently has abandoned its attempt to rebrand itself under the o.co name and address.

The company recently issued a statement that company founder, Chairman and CEO, Dr. Patrick M. Byrne, “will be taking a personal leave of absence for medical reasons.  Overstock.com President Jonathan Johnson will serve as Acting CEO during Dr. Byrne’s leave of absence.  Dr. Byrne will remain Chairman of the Board.”

*Bulletin: Overstock.com has announced several additional changes in the company’s executive lineup.  Chief among these moves is the transfer of the company’s presidency from Jonathan E. Johnson III to a concept of co-presidents.  The co-presidents named are:

  • Stormy Simon, who as when Senior VP, will continue to oversee customer and partner care. Additional responsibilities now will include oversight of warehouse logistics, press relations, social media, and strategic marketing.
  • David Nielsen, who as when Senior VP, will continue to oversee merchandising and supply chain.  Additional responsibilities will now include the areas of international sales, talent management, and information technology.

For up to date, additional executive changes which Overstock has made, please logon to the Chain Store database.
