POS Manufacturers Retain Top Market Share

Chain Store Guide has just published the 2013 Databases of Retail and Foodservice Technology and each year we take a look at the results of our research and highlight the market share leaders in three Point of Sale areas: Hardware, Software, and Printers. All of the leading manufacturers retain their top spots for the fourth year in a row since CSG has been reporting these rankings.

In the Retail industry IBM’s 20% share secures their top spot in the POS Hardware category edging out second place Dell by 1%. IBM places second in POS Software behind frontrunner Verifone.

In the foodservice industry MICROS retains the lead in POS Hardware while Radiant Systems holds a commanding lead in POS Software. EPSON continues to dominate the POS Printer category in both retail and foodservice.
