Ascena Retail Group Inc. recently acquired Ann Inc., formerly called Ann Taylor. The company is an apparel specialty retailer offering clothing, shoes, and accessories for women under the Lane Bryant, Cacique, Catherines, Maurices, Dressbarn, and Ann Taylor brands, and for tween girls under the Justice brand. Ann Inc. will continue to operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ascena Retail Group Inc.

With the addition of the Ann Taylor trade names, including Loft and Lou & Grey, Ascena is now one of North America’s largest and most diversified apparel specialty retailers. The company now operates 5,000 stores throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada, with annual revenues of over $7.3 billion and more than 70,000 associates. The acquisition positions Ascena as the largest specialty apparel retailer focused on women’s apparel, with a diverse brand portfolio that serves women of all ages, sizes and demographics.
