Ahold Delhaize Readying Big Stop & Shop Remodel

Change is coming to the Stop & Shop, the 414-unit East Coast banner owned by Ahold Delhaize. After putting in place new marketing and merchandising teams as well as wrapping up a transition to a more localized approach to promotions in the first half of the year, executives announced during last week’s earnings call that they’re not done yet.

Details have yet to be finalized, but we expect a brand refresh and store remodeling program that will touch all 414 stores (as seen on the map below) beginning later this year and running through 2019. Executives have confirmed that up to 20 stores will be put through the paces before the end of 2018 and that more details will be provided in their November Capital Markets Day presentation.

Keeping you up to date on expansion and remodeling – one of the many services provided by Chain Store Guide and our supermarket data-based products.
