BJ’s Opens Its Doors to Non-Members

In a bid to boost membership rolls, BJ’s Wholesale Club, the third largest membership club in the US behind Costco and Sam’s Club, kicked off its “Welcome One and All” event last week.

From October 15 to November 4, the company is opening its doors to everyone – members and non-members alike – to showcase its offerings. A large component of the push is a focus on its “everyday pricing” in the grocery aisles, which the company claims can save families 25% on their grocery spend. BJ’s focus on grocery is nothing new, as more than 70% of its total revenue comes from products in that segment, according to Chain Store Guide data.

For non-members, BJ’s is offering a free three-month trial membership or 12-month membership for $25 for those willing to enroll in its  “BJ’s Easy Renewal” program. And in a bid to highlight its delivery service, the company is also offering one free same-day delivery to those who sign up in-store during the event.
