• Sheetz Inc. has entered into a partnership with DoorDash to provide on-demand delivery of its products.

 

Retail

• Apple Inc. has temporarily closed three retail stores in the U.S. and Canada after a rise in employee COVID-19 cases and exposures.

• Canadian Tire Corporation Ltd. is deploying smart in-store contactless product retrieval lockers.

• JCPenney Company, Inc. is now partnering with on-demand delivery platform DoorDash to offer same-day delivery of select online orders.

• Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc., CVS Health, Rite Aid Corporation, and Walmart Stores Inc. announced that they are limiting purchases of at-home COVID-19 tests as demand surges.

 

Restaurant

• Union Square Hospitality Group has temporarily closed 7 restaurants and the company will be requiring COVID-19 booster shots for all employees and diners starting Jan. 24th.

• Washington D.C., Chicago, and Boston have joined New York City, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and San Francisco in requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to eat at restaurants.
