• Cencora, Inc. announced that Steven Collis will retire as President and CEO effective October 1. Robert Mauch, current COO, will succeed him as President and CEO.

• PCC Community Markets has named David Spear as VP of Merchandising, Promotions and Sourcing.

• SpartanNash Company announced the promotion of Nicole Zube to Exec VP, Chief Human Resources Officer.

• Weis Markets Inc. has promoted Jack O’Hara to Senior VP of Legal Affairs and Real Estate.

Retail

• David Yurman has named Chris Clipper as its new CFO. Robert Lepere has joined the company as Chief People Officer.

• Foot Locker Inc. has appointed Cindy Carlisle as its new Exec VP, Chief Human Resources Officer.

• Fossil Group, Inc. announced that Kosta N. Kartsotis is stepping down as CEO effective immediately. The company has appointed Jeffrey N. Boyer, Exec VP and COO, as Interim CEO. Kevin Mansell has been appointed as Chairman.

• Guitar Center Inc. has appointed Kristin Shane as its new Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer.

• The Home Depot Inc. is opening four new distribution centers in Detroit, MI; Los Angeles, CA; San Antonio, TX; and Toronto, ON, during the first half of 2024.

• Jo-Ann Stores Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and will become a private company.

• Mac Cosmetics is launching a new partnership with DoorDash.

• Outdoor Voices has closed all of its store locations.

• Signet Jewelers Limited announced it plans to open 20 to 30 new stores, and remodel 300 locations during its current fiscal year.

• Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. will open 65 new stores and remodel 45 stores in 2024. The retailer plans to open stores in Mexico in 2025.

• Under Armour Inc. reported that Stephanie Linnartz is stepping down as CEO and President. Kevin Plank will return to his roles as President and CEO, effective April 1, 2024.

• Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. will now close two of its distribution centers in Orlando, FL, and another in Dayville, CT.

• Wayfair Inc. will open its first store location in spring 2024, in Wilmette, IL.

Restaurant

• Chick-fil-A is testing new pizza items. The company will be testing five pizzas and one calzone that will feature a combination of classic Chick-fil-A items. If the test is successful, the pizza could make its way to national menus like macaroni and cheese did a few years ago.

• Chipotle’s board of directors has proposed a 50-to-1 stock split and would be the company’s first ever stock split. If approved the move would make company shares more accessible for investors.

• McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski has been named Executive Chairman and will be the first person in 20 years to hold both positions at the company.

• Qdoba has named Jeremy Vitaro as Chief Development Officer.

• Shake Shack has named Rob Lynch as CEO effective May 20. Lynch is currently the CEO of Papa Johns and he will remain in the role until the end of April. Papa Johns CFO, Ravi Thanawala, will take over interim duties.

• Smashburger has appointed Denise Nelsen as CEO.

• Starbucks is bringing an end to Starbucks Odyssey, the companies metaverse program, at the end of the month. Only a few years ago the metaverse seemed to factor heavily into the future of restaurants, yet now companies are looking elsewhere.

• Subway is preparing to launch 4 sauces for sale in grocery stores. The company is also eliminating their Coke products and switching to a partnership with PepsiCo.

• Taco John’s has named Heather Neary as CEO. She is taking over for Jim Creel who is retiring.

• Wendy’s is testing drone delivery in a Virginia location.
