Oath Pizza Inks Deal with Aramark, Poised for Growth

MOD and Blaze built their burgeoning fast-casual pizza empires via hundreds of new-store openings over the last four years. Upstart Oath Pizza, the three-year-old concept that positions its offerings as “certified humane” and “ethically-sourced” is taking a slightly different approach by hooking up with Aramark.

The companies recently announced the formation of a strategic partnership through which Aramark provided Oath with a capital investment and led its most recent round of funding. Potentially, the most significant part of the deal is that Aramark will place Oath Pizza outlets within some of the tens of thousands of colleges, hospitals and stadiums it serves.

The move is also unique for Aramark, one of the largest foodservice providers in the US, as it generally prefers to enter into licensing agreements with the concepts it features.

Like MOD and Blaze, though, hundreds of traditional locations may also be part of the equation. Oath’s latest round of funding will be used to continue the expansion of company-owned stores, and the organization announced that it is now franchising the concept.
