• CVS Health announced it will open additional HealthHubs in major cities this year. The company plans to have a total of 1,500 HealthHubs operating by the end of 2021.
• Fred’s Inc. has announced it is closing an additional 49 stores, with going-out-of-business sales underway as of June 21. The pharmacies in the locations will remain open.
• General Nutrition Centers, Inc. announced it will soon be offering an omnichannel subscription program based on the Ordergroove relationship commerce platform and Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
• Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. announced its plans to become an international retailer. The company intends to initially expand operations outside the U.S. in Canada.
• Genoa Healthcare recently opened new pharmacies in Valley Cottage, NY, Marion, VA, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Laredo, TX, Grants Pass, OR, and Biddeford, ME.
• The Kroger Co. has expanded its partnership with consumer health engagement company Higi to put its self-service smart health stations in Roundy’s Supermarkets in Illinois and Wisconsin, including Pick ‘n Save, Mariano’s, Copps and Metro Market banners. The higi stations offer free health screenings and interactive educational content.
• Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation announced that it will be launching a same-day delivery service through a partnership with Instacart.
• Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. announced an updated version of GlamLab, its augmented reality-based mobile app feature that enables customers to see how different beauty products would look on them. Initially launched for iPhone in January, the retailer will release a version for Android phones this month. The retailer is also piloting an AR-based try-on service in its stores.
