After numerous years of ownership by both Albertsons and Supervalu, Bristol Farms is now once again a thriving independent supermarket chain. In 2010, the chain was sold to a newly formed holding company by private equity firm Endeavour Capital and the chain’s management team.
Recently, the chain opened a second Lazy Acres location. The original store has been in operation since 1991 in Santa Barbara, CA and was acquired by Bristol in 2005. The Lazy Acres format has a natural/organic theme and focuses on healthy eating and lifestyle.
