• Grocery Outlet Holding Corp. has announced Christopher Miller will join the company as Exec VP and CFO, effective Jan. 6. Lindsay Gray, who has been Interim CFO, will move back into her role of Senior VP Accounting.
• Yesway opened five new convenience stores in New Mexico and Texas in the fourth quarter of 2024.

• Builders FirstSource Inc. announced it will acquire Alpine Lumber Co.
• The Container Store Inc. has filed for bankruptcy protection.
• Daiso USA will open four new store locations in California this week.
• Dollar Tree Stores Inc. announced that its interim CEO, Michael Creedon Jr., will take on the role permanently.
• McCoy’s Building Supply has promoted Joshua Whitley to Senior VP and CFO. Rick Neal recently retired from the position.
• Orgill Inc. has appointed Clay Jackson as its new Exec VP and COO. Craig Cowart has been promoted to Senior VP. Francisco Feraud has been promoted to VP Sales, International. Laura Luotonen has been promoted to VP Credit. Jim Rivas has been promoted to VP. Jordan Tice has been promoted to VP Planning and Field Operations. Reddy Bireddy was promoted to Director Data Management. Mike Cutrona was promoted to Director Human Resources. Alison Farrington was promoted to Director Corporate Account Conversions. • Party City Holdco Inc. announced it has filed for bankruptcy and plans to hold going out of business sales at all its stores.
• Variety Wholesalers Inc. reported it intends to acquire between 200 and 400 stores and up to two distribution centers from Big Lots Stores Inc. The company plans to operate the acquired stores under the Big Lots brand.
Restaurant
• Blaze Pizza has signed a franchise agreement to open 25 units in Southern California. The first four of those locations are expected to open in 2025.
• Chipotle has expanded its fitness challenge and seven digital-exclusive menu items to international markets. The is part of the company’s strategy to become an international brand.
• Noodles & Company has received a delisting warning from The Nasdaq Stock Market. The company’s share price is too low to meet the exchange’s rules and the company is considering a reverse stock split to brink up the share price.
• Starbucks has lost its appeal in a case of unfair labor practices. The NLRB’s 2021 ruling finding that Starbucks illegally terminated two employees has been upheld.
