Best Buy Canada is testing a mobile POS solution in five stores using Motorola ET1 enterprise tablets and MC40 smartphone-sized devices.

Guitar Center is now accepting PayPal in nearly all company stores.

PetSmart has extended its contract with GSI Commerce. The company will support the retailer’s omnichannel strategy with webstore, fulfillment and customer service solutions.

Technology News:

Brooks Brothers announced that it has launched a new e-commerce site on the Demandware Commerce platform.

JCPenney announced that by the end of March all associates will be able to do in-aisle checkout using an iPod. Currently 25% of all transactions are conducted on a mobile device. The retailer’s long-term strategy includes nearly $100 million per year in IT investments.

Modell’s Sporting Goods has selected NCRs RealPOS 82XRT POS terminals.
