Setting the bar in technical fabrics and functional designs, Lululemon works with yogis and athletes in local communities for continuous research and feedback.  Lululemon stores host events ranging from self-defense to goal-setting workshops to complimentary yoga classes led by its community ambassadors.

After getting started as a yoga/meditation studio, the goal of the company was to turn Lululemon’s small presence into a full-scale operation with stores in the trendiest malls and high-end shopping districts. Lululemon began opening franchise stores in select markets in 2002 and opened its first store in the United States in 2003. With 270 current locations the company continues to grow. In fact, the company signed a pair of leases late last month on two corners facing each other in New York City’s Soho neighborhood. One will be the retailer’s first store just for men. Both stores will open late this year.
