A longtime favorite of Wall Street and a company known for its forward- thinking stability, Fastenal has had a relatively turbulent year in its executive suite. About a year ago, Chairman Willard Oberton relinquished his role as CEO to concentrate on his chairmanship. Current COO, Leland J. Hein was then announced as interim President, CEO.
Now the company has finally made a decision as to who will essentially run the organization. Exec VP, CFO, Daniel Florness, has been promoted to the top post. The promotion will take effect on New Year’s Day, 2016.
The executive corps of this company has long enjoyed the reputation of operating through a family-like atmosphere. One must wonder what took so long to fill the lead executive position.
