Papa John’s has enabled customers to place orders through the company’s Facebook page on the Facebook application.

Shake Shack is growing its mobile ordering application. The application, part of an expanding digital technology strategy from the company, has helped to increase both foot traffic and average order sizes since its inception. Mobile orders now account for roughly 3% of total company sales.

Albertsons is planning to revamp its ecommerce systems during its 2018 fiscal year to run on public and private cloud-based platforms.

Peapod launched hands-free voice ordering with Alexa called ‘Ask Peapod’. Alexa is the voice enabled component of the Amazon Echo.

 

Discount/GM

Walmart is expanding its Pickup Tower – a large self-service kiosk that lets customers pick up online orders in-store.
